There’s something special about starting a new year in a warm climate. While much of the country is facing snow, icy roads, and temperatures below 30 degrees, we’re enjoying blue skies, abundant sunshine, and winter days that still feel pleasantly mild. Even on our “colder” days, here in Southwest Florida, it’s hard to complain when the sun is shining.

This time of year is perfect for slowing down and enjoying the simple pleasures that make Naples such a wonderful place to spend the winter.

One of our recent outings, with my dad. included a visit to Naples Fire Rescue – Station #1. When the crew isn’t busy responding to a call, they’re always happy to show off their impressive equipment. It’s a fun, educational stop - and a reminder of the incredible people who serve our community.

Another favorite way to spend an afternoon is enjoying a late lunch on 3rd Street South, watching an amazing lineup of cars roll by. From luxury vehicles to classic beauties, it’s entertaining, relaxing, and quintessential Naples.

And during season, the activity at Naples Airport is nonstop. The Observation Deck is a great place to watch private jets arrive and depart throughout the day - simple fun that’s surprisingly memorable for the whole family.

With outstanding restaurants, boutique shopping, world-class golf, and beautiful beaches, there’s truly no shortage of things to do. Southwest Florida really is the perfect winter escape.

Looking Ahead: Summer Travel Dreams

While winter is high season here in Naples, January is also the ideal time to start planning summer travel.
